This past weekend I was finally able to try Barcelona on Temple St. The place did not disappoint. As XTC and I entered the signless building, we were greeted by a warm and lively ambiance. Along the descending stairs were tea lights to help guide you down. As we sat looking at the menu, I knew that there was one thing that I had to try while there... the sangria. It was one of the better ones I've had... but Chow's sangria is still my tops. The tapas that were had were yummy, but nothing that really impressed us... (are we food snobs?). We had the chicken, steak, calamari, a pumpkin and pomegranate salad, a hummus dip and sheep cheese. XTC and I came to a conclusion: tapas dish is much like the Chinese Dim Sum. Small eats that are very shareable. It makes dinning with friends more intimate where as you can sample each others food instead of just having your own plate. All in all the food was satisfying, but the atmosphere (and the company) was great... definitely return again... perhaps for mom's birthday?
Next on the food agenda:
-edd (estimated date of dinning): 02.02.07 @ Sono Bana, Hot Tomatoe's or C.O. Jones... what will it be?!
post script- Thank you XTC for all of your help on the kitchen the other weekend... it looks peachy!
